The INDIE short FILM SERIES gained instantaneous popularity after its launch in 2019. The Series has included domestic and international films, many official selections from the Sundance Film Festival and other popular festivals. With the upcoming installment on Saturday, July 13, 7:30pm, at the historical Vinegar Hill Theatre in Charlottesville, Virginia, the question of “what’s next?” looms after we are coming off of a successful recent 3 Day Festival.
Each installment of the Series include 7-9 short films followed by a panel discussion, and an opportunity for the audience to award their favorite short film of the evening with the Audience Choice Award - a fancy glass/crystal award.
The immediate and long term goal is to provide a high tier experience for film lovers and to provide indie filmmakers with a platform to share their story. The Series’ founder is a filmmaker and creative director of a boutique marketing company and has worked with festivals such as Sundance since 2015 and the Virginia Film Festival since 2017. Cooper has also cofounded a film festival and has served as a curator for others. Always impressed by the short programs at major festivals, he thought the supporters of the Indie Short Film Series in Virginia should see these high quality shorts.
